Taking place on March 8th and 9th, 2025, at the iconic Pioneertown Motel in Pioneertown, CA, High Desert Art Fair offers a unique, immersive experience that brings together galleries, artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts from Southern California and beyond.
HSC&A is pleased to present a co-curated exhibition with Craig Krull Gallery featuring new work by Alia Malley, Allegra Pacheco, Godeleine de Rosamel and Costa Rican artist Karla Herencia, who is making her U.S. debut. Our presentation includes paintings, hand-altered photographs, ceramics, sculpture and a site-specific scent— all reflecting the aesthetics of the California desert landscape and broader environmental issues.

Founded with the vision of creating an accessible platform for both traditional and unconventional art spaces, the High Desert Art Fair fosters a vibrant, intimate setting where art can be experienced and appreciated in a way that resonates with the unique spirit of the desert. The fair aims to bridge the gap between art lovers and the rich culture of the High Desert, encouraging meaningful conversations around art, while providing exposure to emerging and established talent.
Exhibitors will showcase works in the hotel rooms, each curated to highlight the gallery’s program. In addition to art exhibitions, the event will feature talks, book signings, and a special concert on Saturday evening at the Red Dog Saloon, providing a full cultural experience for visitors. With innovative galleries and a focus on community engagement, the High Desert Art Fair is the perfect opportunity to discover new artwork and connect with a passionate art community.

Curated by Artistic Director Neville Wakefield and Co-curator Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas, Desert X 2025 reflects on the desert’s deep time evolutions, revealing a profound reverence for the enduring spirit of this harsh yet resilient region that challenges us to glean wisdom from its vast knowledge.
The exhibition reflects on the desert’s deep time evolutions reframing ideas and wilderness and exploring themes of Indigenous futurism, design activism, colonial power asymmetries, the impress of humanity on the land and the role of emerging technologies in our contemporary society.
Their mission is to create and present international contemporary art exhibitions that engage with desert environments through site-specific installations by acclaimed artist from around the world.
