Join us this Friday, January 24, at 10:30 AM PST, for an emotional and powerful HSC&A / IG Live with artist Camilla Taylor, who is mourning “over 20 years of artmaking” that was lost in her West Altadena home studio.
We are humbled for this opportunity to virtually visit one of the thousands of properties lost to the Los Angeles wildfires and to give those of you outside of Los Angeles a sense of the new reality many artists are now facing in our city.

This is an important moment in history as Los Angeles artists navigate a devastating disaster. Camilla will bravely share her personal experience as she revisits the site of her former home and will discuss the initial impact of this tragedy on her work and life.
We will also talk about her recent work, upcoming shows, and discuss practical ways we can help support her as an artist, as well as the many other impacted artists in Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, Camilla and her partner Jason Trōff lost their home to the Eaton wildfire in Altadena, CA. They were only able to save their four cats and a few belongings.
Camilla Taylor is an artist, printmaker, and sculptor. She lost all the tools of her art-making when her home studio burned down, such as her kiln and her printing press. She also lost all her artworks, archives, and materials from the past twenty years.
Camilla’s dear friend and fellow artist, Nova Jiang has created a GoFundMe page for the couple in an effort to help them get back on their feet. Their goal is to raise 70K to help replace items that were lost in the fire. Any form of donation helps.
